Welcome to the Daigneault Team blog. Here you will find the nightly homework assignments, along with important dates and test/quiz/project information! This blog is not in place of student agendas. Students should be writing their assignments down at the beginning of each class period. However please use this blog to verify/clarify assignments.

Extra Help Days: Teachers will be after on the following days for extra help. If a student cannot make that extra help session and would like to meet with the teacher, they should make arrangements with that teacher in advance.

ELA MCAS is on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Please get some rest over the weekend and stay healthy! Remember to bring in a silent read book next week and a healthy snack!

Math: Erase all stray marks, page by page in C&S book, clean out all of the investigations (problems) in the journal section of binder, replenish supplies - put new notebook paper in the homework section, replenish pencils, pens, and highlighters.

Adv. Math: P. 43 #10, 13, 14.

English: MCAS Practice - Brothers and Sisters, The Friends You Can't Choose. Read and respond to the open-ended and multiple choice questions.

Science: 1.) Periodic Table, Elements, Compounds summarizing output is due on April 1. 2.) Blue packet, "My Dear Mr. Watson" due on Tuesday, 3/29. 3.) Science Elder Tea Project is due on Wednesday, April 6th.

ELA: MCAS Practice Different Dreamers. Read and respond, answer the multiple choice questions and the Open Response. Aim for a 4! **Final draft of you Elder Tea Special Moment due tomorrow.

Social Studies: Vocab note-cards (word, picture/definition, page #) for Lesson 2 and Lesson 3 vocabulary (pages 291 and 300)

Science: 1. Due 3/23 - Complete the yellow packet: Elements and Compounds: read pages 1-2 and then complete Lessons #13 and #17. No homework passes can be used. 2. Due Tuesday, 3/29: Textbook Shell notes(tan) "Organizing the Elements" and Dear Mr. Watson Packet(blue). 3. Continue to work on your Elder Tea Science Project.

English: Bring in your typewritten or neatly handwritten draft of the Special Moment shared with your Elder. Also your completed Unit 13 Vocabulary Worksheet.

Math: pp. 82-84 #16-20,22 (28-33 Find Perimeter or Circumference, not Area), 34, 35. As always draw a sketch of each question, state the correct formula, and show all work.

Adv. Math: Use your name length data to find the range, mode, median, and mean of your data.

Science: Re-read your Elder Tea Science packet and have a parent look over it too. Fill in your planning calendar of when you are going to work on this assignment. Also, this weekend you should be typing your introduction and your Elder's response.

English: Discover your heritage. Ask your parents/guardians about your ancestry. What country did your distant relatives hail from?

Social Studies: No homework.

Homework for Thursday 3/17

Math: Pizzazz sheet - Use notebook paper to draw sketches, write formula (3 steps), and show work.

Adv. Math: Use the Data About Us sheet you have in your binder to make a line plot for the "number of letters." Graphs are only a useful way of displaying data when they ahve a title and the axis(es) is(are) labeled. In at least 2 sentences, use critical thinking to explain what you can tell about the name lengths of students in your class.

ELA: Study for tomorrow's Poetry Test and complete Vocab Unit 13 exercises III and IV.

Social Studies: Page 290 Lesson 1 Review Questions - 4 questions answered thoroughly on white lined paper.

Science: Due Friday: Pink worksheet: Organizing the Elements.

Science: Properties of a missing element worksheet due tomorrow (white handout). Spelling quiz on Thursday. Due Friday, 3/18 - Elder Tea Brainstorming sheet. You only need to generate questions you want to research about your Elder's topic. You don't need to find answers. We will start researching in the school library on Friday, 3/18.

English: Download a vocab sheet and bring it to class tomorrow. Get your vocab quizzes signed. Lastly, review and revise your open response for "The Boy" and "Editors are real people too" MCAS Open response questions.

Students today during X Block created Arete goals (Arete means personal excellence in Greek) that they would like to accomplish along with an action plan to reach these goals. Two of the goals were academic and one a personal goal. I encourage parents to review these goals with their child.

Social Studies: Vocab note-cards for the three words listed on page 287. Word and picture on one side, definition and page number on the other side.

Math: Complete the table begun in class for C divided by D (last column)

Adv. Math: Complete problems 4(a) and 7 on the VISA packet. Test on Thursday - Area and Circumference of circles, Volume of rectangular prisms, cylinders, cones, spheres; Surface Area of rectangular prisms, cyliners

Science: 1. Atoms output - you might not need to work on this since we have had class time. 2. Winter #2 Nature Journal - facts will be done in class tomorrow. 3. Atoms Quiz tomorrow. 4. Please bring in rat mummification supplies: Salt, Baking Soda, and Washing Soda. The rats need your help.

Social Studies: Egyptian Banquet is tomorrow - donations are appreciated! Also, anything you might need to finish or do for your Egyptian Newspaper should be brought to school tomorrow.

Social Studies: Final Draft of your newspaper article is due tomorrow - typed and single spaced. You colored illustration is also due tomorrow.

Math: Complete your triangle family (4 triangles) with a base of 8 cm and a height of your choice. Measure and lable the base, height and any other sides. Find the perimeter and area.

Adv. Math: Volume/surface area open response.
