Welcome to the Daigneault Team blog. Here you will find the nightly homework assignments, along with important dates and test/quiz/project information! This blog is not in place of student agendas. Students should be writing their assignments down at the beginning of each class period. However please use this blog to verify/clarify assignments.

Extra Help Days: Teachers will be after on the following days for extra help. If a student cannot make that extra help session and would like to meet with the teacher, they should make arrangements with that teacher in advance.

Science: In your lab notebook do your output on Mass and Weight with colored pencil. You can review handouts to help you. Remember there are key ideas for this quiz that should be reflected in your output:

What is the difference between mass and weight?
What is mass? Weight?
What happens to your mass and weight on different planets?

The following assignment is for students who want more challenging work. you are NOT required to do both. They can write down both and then choose when they sit down to do the homework. CHALLENGE QUESTIONS: pp. 17-20 #8, 19, 21, 25, 31, 32, 38, 45, 46, 48, (10 Problems)

Adv. Math: Complete packet.

English: Continue to compose a first draft of NC narrative essay. Complete Exercise I & II of the vocab worksheet.

Social Studies: Finish your study-guide. You have two questions under Lesson 3: Farming to finish (Explain 3 Causes that led to farming, Explain 5 effects of farming). Also make sure you have all other sections completed and in class tomorrow - especially vocab.

Science: 1. Yellow Sheet "Metric Mania" only the front side due Thursday. 2. Mass and Weight Output in your lab notebook due Friday, 10/29. 3. Mass and Weight Quiz on Friday, 10/29. 4. Spelling Quiz on Tuesday, 11/2.

Math: Play 4 games of the Product Game.

Adv. Math: pp. 30-31 #17-20, 26-30 AND complete Prob. 3.1

English: Begin a rough/first draft of your Nature's Classroom narrative essay. Bring it to school tomorrow along with a USb Flashdrive. Remember to bring in your signed Unit 3 Vocab Quiz.

Science: Same as Monday night's homework, but also: If you didn't finish the Mass Watchers II Lab conclusion questions in class, then please finish for tomorrow.

Social Studies: Complete the 1st question in the Lesson 1 section of the study-guide. Describe each one of the five hominid groups on a notecard using your Lesson 1 notes and Early Man timeline worksheet.

Math: Complete the factor pairs for 90 - on the back of the vocab sheet. And in PRIME TIME pp. 14-17 #1-7, 30. Make sure you answer in complete sentences.

Adv. Math: Problem 2.3 in PRIME TIME. Remember the 45-minute rule.

English: Eleven Packet due tomorrow.

Science: Due Wednesday, 10/27: Triple Beam Balance Gizmo handout (pgs. 1-2) and question 5 question online quiz. This was assigned Friday, 10/15. Mass and Metric Quiz is on Friday, 10/29. You are welcome to stay after school on Tues., Weds. and Thurs. to review and practice using the triple beam balance. Our first spelling quiz is on Tuesday, 11/2 and the list was past out today.

Social Studies: Complete the second question under the Lesson 1 Section of your study-guide outline. Put the question on one side of the notecard, your answer on the other side. The question: Describe and explain a scientific discovery (Ardi, Lucy, or Leakey's Discovery)

Adv. Math: Complete investigations 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. You may use bare-bones sentences for each question.

English: Study for your Vocab quiz tomorrow. Work on your short story "Eleven" packet due Monday, 10/25. Don't leave it for the Sunday after Nature's Classroom - get started on it early!

Science: Due Friday, 10/15 -
A.) Mass Watchers I Lab conclusion questions (1-5). If you didn't finish the conclusion questions in class then finish today.

Math: Do the online activity with polystrips - Problem 4.1. The directions are on the handout. Answer the questions on the back of the handout that has the bridge.

Adv. Math: Erase all stray marks in 5 and D book. Have your angle ruler in class tomorrow.

English: Write 5 Declarative and 5 Interrogative Sentences on Handout. Upcoming Vocab Unit 3 Quiz on Friday.

Science: Lab Report due on or before Tuesday, 10/13 at 2 pm.

Social Studies: Complete vocab note-cards from Lesson 2 (pages 55-61). Word and picture on one side, definition and page number on the other side.

Math: Complete Problem 4.1 AND go to the PHSchool.com and print out and complete "Multiple Choice" questions for Investigation 1, 2, and 3. Make sure to show your work. This will help prepare you for the Shapes and Designs Unit Test on Thursday, October 14.

Adv. Math: p. 80 #25-28 AND go to PHSchool.com and print out and complete "Multiple Choice questions for Investigation 3 and 4. Make sure to show your work. Shapes and Designs Unit test is on Tuesday, 10/12.

English: Complete the Vocab Worksheet. This coming weekend focus on your thoughts and emotions regarding the anticipated experience at Nature's Classroom. Consider keeping a journal of your reflections over the course of the next week, during your time at NC and upon returning.

Science: Lab Report is due on or before 10/13/10 by 2 pm.

English: Continue to edit and revise the 5 Senses Paragraphs on Criterion. Complete the Vocab Unit 3 Worksheet, due on Tuesday.

Science: Lab report is due on or before 10/13/10 by 2 pm.

Social Studies: Visualization picture is due tomorrow. Students should draw and color a scene from the Prehistoric visualization activty we did in class on Wednesday. Students should color one side of the note-card using colored pencils/crayons.

Science: In order to conduct your Gel Capsule lab experiment you must have the following sections done in your lab graphic organizer with complete sentences: Page 3 all sections (testable question, team hypothesis, independent variable, dependent variable, controlled variable, & background information). Page 4 all sections (materials, procedure, create your data table.)



Social Studies: Due Friday: Visualization drawing of a scene from the short reading about prehistoric life read in class today. Students are asked to fill one side of the entire notecard with the scene and use color (color pencils/crayons only).

Math: pp. 63-67 # 6, 7, 17, 22. Shapes and Designs Unit Test, Thursday, 10/14.

Adv. Math: Online activity - See web code on page 72 of Shapes and Designs book. Answer questions in packet. Omit page 3.

English: Complete the graphic organizer regarding the theme of The All American Slurp, the short story being read in class. Fill in thoroughly using textual evidence from the story to support your answers. This assignment is due on Thursday. Vocab Unit Three Quiz next Friday, October 15th.

Science: Figure out who your partner will be from your homeroom for the Gel Capsule Lab. You should work with someone who lives close to your neighborhood or is available to stay after school to work on writing the lab report.

Social Studies: Read the "Building Communities" Handout and answer two of the four questions in complete sentences either on lined paper, the back of the sheet, or typed.
